SONNET 3 is our behind-the-ear audio processor. With the slogan “Be Flexible. Be Free,” SONNET 3 has been designed with the flexibility to fit your hearing and lifestyle needs, giving you more freedom.

SONNET 3 is available as both a cochlear implant audio processor and an electric acoustic stimulation (EAS) audio processor. Any MED-EL recipient with a SYNCHRONY series, CONCERTO series, SONATA series, PULSAR, C40+, or C40 implant can use SONNET 3.

SONNET 3 is equipped with FineHearing to provide the closest to natural hearing possible. FineHearing technology offers better hearing and a richer, fuller hearing experience.

In addition, SONNET 3 has Automatic Sound Management 3.0 with Adaptive Intelligence. This automatically changes the volume and other settings to match the hearing environment you are in. It also reduces background noise so you can hear more clearly in busy environments.

SONNET 3 uses dual microphones and the latest technology to give you microphone directionality. With two microphones, SONNET 3 can focus in on the sounds in front of you and reduce background noise. This makes it easier to hear the most important sounds around you, especially in noisy environments.

Yes. SONNET 3 is equipped with integrated wireless streaming. Stream from your smartphone, tablet, or smart TV without any additional devices. Stream phone calls and sound from any compatible device in high-quality true stereo. You can also use the universal connectivity device AudioLink XT as a remote microphone for SONNET 3. Put it on the table and hear the conversation more clearly at dinner, in meetings, or in many other situations. Or use AudioLink XT to connect to non-smart TVs.

SONNET 3 is our smallest BTE audio processor yet. With the rechargeable battery Micro Pro, it’s just 41.6 mm high and 38.7 mm wide. It’s also very light with a weight of just 7.6 grams! If you use the rechargeable battery Standard Pro, SONNET 3 comes in at a height of 53 mm.

Yes! SONNET 3 has an IP68 rating, making it fully waterproof—perfect for rainy weather, intense workouts, and even quick freshwater swims!*

For swimming in chlorinated or salt water, you can pop on a WaterWear waterproof cover.

* SONNET 3 has an IP68 rating: Waterproof for immersion in fresh water up to a maximum depth of 1 meter for 60 minutes. WaterWear should be used in chlorinated or salt water and when participating in prolonged, intense water activities. SONNET 3 EAS is water resistant and has an IP54 rating.

Both rechargeable and disposable batteries are available for SONNET 3, and you can even switch between the two types. With two size 675 zinc-air batteries, SONNET 3 can go for up to 60 hours. Using our rechargeable options, you can enjoy up to 23 hours of power with the rechargeable battery Standard Pro or up to 12 hours with the tiny and light rechargeable battery Micro Pro.

SONNET 3 is built to automatically change settings for you depending on your environment. This is done by Automatic Sound Management 3.0 with Adaptive Intelligence technology. However, if you wish to change settings manually, this can be easily done with the FineTuner Echo or the AudioKey 3 app.

Yes, SONNET 3 is designed to stay securely on your head. You can choose a standard earhook or the flexible, silicone earhook which you can bend to fit your ear more securely. For even more security, you can try one of the wearing options, such as ActiveWear, or a fixation option like the Activity Hook. SONNET 3 is also sweat resistant so you can enjoy uninterrupted hearing during high-energy activities.

No. WaterWear for other SONNET series processors is not compatible with SONNET 3. If you upgrade from an older SONNET processor, be sure to order WaterWear for SONNET 3.

Yes. Your audiologist will program the levels of external audio and streamed audio you will hear when using SONNET 3’s integrated direct streaming.

Your audiologist can set up this button to change programs or activate standby mode. Talk to your audiologist if you would like to switch the function of your SONNET 3’s touch key.

Both RONDO 3 and SONNET 3 offer our latest sound coding technology, Automatic Sound Management 3.0. They also both have two microphones, offering a similar level of hearing performance. But when it comes to design, they have some distinct differences. RONDO 3 sits off the ear, whereas SONNET 3 hooks behind the ear. RONDO 3 is charged wirelessly and has an all-in-one design for extra simplicity. SONNET 3’s modular design makes it compatible with different wearing options like SONNET 3 BabyWear. SONNET 3 is equipped with integrated direct streaming. To stream with RONDO 3, you need the AudioStream Adapter.
