The OPUS 2 Audio Processor is a behind-the-ear cochlear implant audio processor from MED-EL. It consists of a processor, which is worn on the ear, and a coil, which sits over the implant on the head. OPUS 2 is small and compact and comes with many different wearing options for optimal comfort. It also features Automatic Sound Management technology and flexible connectivity options.

OPUS 2 is suitable for cochlear implant users of any age. It is compatible with all MED-EL multichannel cochlear implants from the last 20+ years, including a SYNCHRONY series, MED-EL CONCERT series, PULSAR, SONATA series, and C40+.

Settings for OPUS 2 can be changed easily with the FineTuner remote. OPUS 2 also features Automatic Sound Management to minimize the need to change settings manually.

OPUS 2 features Automatic Sound Management (ASM) technology for optimal hearing. Automatic Sound Management actively adapts to changing listening environments, so there’s less need to manually adjust settings. ASM features Automatic Volume Control to seamlessly and automatically adjust volume levels to ensure that sounds are clear and comfortable.

Yes, OPUS 2 can easily connect to your phone using the FM Battery Pack Cover and a wireless receiver and microphone, such as the Roger PenTM from Phonak. This allows you to make hands-free calls, with the sound coming directly to your ears. A wireless microphone also makes it easy to connect to tablets, TVs, and other devices, and to hear better in challenging environments.

Alternatively, OPUS 2 can be used with Bluetooth® neckloops, and connects to hearing loops in public spaces, such as theatres or airports. You can also connect to your devices using a direct audio input cable.

OPUS 2 provides up to 90 hours of battery life from three size 675, zinc-air batteries. Recommended batteries include PowerOne IMPLANT plus p675, ZeniPower 675P, and PowerOne ACCU plus p675, although most high-power size 675 batteries will work.

The OPUS 2XS Audio Processor is the smallest and lightest wearing option for OPUS 2. It measures 48 mm long, 36.5 mm wide, and 8.7 mm deep, and only weighs 9.4 g.

OPUS 2 is available in 13 different colors: White, Anthracite, Beige, Ebony, Nordic Grey, Sienna Brown, Crème, Bordeaux Red, Pacific Blue, Orange, Green, Baby Pink, and Baby Blue.

You can clean OPUS 2 with a soft, damp cloth. Store your audio processor in the provided drying kit every night to help ensure that any moisture is removed.
