Comprised of multiple positions, the West Region is led by the Regional Director, and includes Surgical-, Clinical-, Engagement-, and Bone Conduction Account Managers working collaboratively to maximize everyone’s strengths to deliver industry-leading and life-changing technology. The Clinical Account Manager – West Region will be expected to assist in developing business strategies that align with the MED-EL mission, goals, and selling philosophy; meet sales goals; create and maintain customer relationships; and participate in business planning. This position will require extensive travel (50%+) throughout Northern California, in addition to attending occasional regional or national conferences, corporate meetings, and other local or national events.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop valuable relationships with clinicians, all levels of hospital and medical center professionals, and other ancillary professionals providing services to candidates and recipients of MED-EL hearing solutions
  • Possess professional engagement skills, demonstrate products and services effectively, and ask for appropriate commitments with integrity while participating in the development of new business which results in sales growth
  • Under the direction of the Regional Director, participate with regional teammates in establishing and regularly monitoring sales goals for assigned accounts
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the causes and types of hearing loss, audiologic and otologic evaluation techniques and general treatment options, as well as competency in the anatomy, etiology of disease, indications and contraindications for cochlear implant and bone conduction device candidacy
  • Provide demonstration and training to hearing health professionals as well as candidates and recipients on MED-EL hearing devices
  • Demonstrate competency in operating MED-EL equipment and software for performing all clinical tasks across all MED-EL product lines
  • Participate in On-Call Audiology duties

Position Qualifications:

  • Positive attitude, self-motivated and collaborative team spirit a must!
  • Required:
    • Master’s degree in Audiology or equivalent
    • Experience with hearing systems including cochlear implants and bone conduction
    • Reside in Northern California with consistent access to customer basen
    • Strong computer literacy skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, CRM)
    • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Preferred:
    • Experience with MED-EL hearing systems, including ADHEAR, BONEBRIDGE, and the SYNCHRONY Cochlear Implant system
    • Minimum 3-5 years of experience with cochlear implant and bone conduction systems
    • Located in Northern California (San Francisco, San Jose, East Bay, Sacramento)

The Insurance Services Representative role works with patients and clinics by answering insurance processing questions for pending/in‐process sales quotes with the Reimbursement Department. In addition, one will act as a liaison with the dedicated state/region Reimbursement and Customer Account Representatives to obtain information on sales quote status and work collaboratively towards resolution. The primary focus of this role is to ensure excellent service standards and maintain high customer satisfaction.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for customers including patients/family members, medical providers (hospitals, implant centers, research centers) and professional (surgeons, audiologists, educators) contacts with regard to insurance processing needs.
  • Provide callers with sales quote status updates and convey inquiries to dedicated Reimbursement Representative for escalated quote maintenance.
  • Partner with dedicated Reimbursement and Customer Service Representatives to address pending orders and provide follow-up to patients, clinics, other customers on status and resolution.
  • Adhere to policies, training, and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions and maintain the responsibilities of this position.

Position Qualifications:

  • Positive attitude, self-motivated and collaborative team spirit a must!
  • Able to work independently
  • Ability to manage multiple requests/tasks/priorities simultaneously as needed
  • Exceptional time management, customer service, and organization skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software
  • Required:

    • Must reside within Pacific or Mountain Time Zone

The Customer Account Representative ‐ Remote role is to work with patients and clinics by answering product and service questions. In addition, one will process orders, prepare correspondence and fulfill customer needs to ensure excellent service standards and maintain high customer satisfaction. This fulltime remote position will be located in the Pacific or Mountain Time Zones and require travel to the Durham, NC office for on‐site training and at designated times throughout the year for various meetings/events. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision is a must.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for customers in the West and Northwest Regions including patients, family members, medical providers and professional contacts regarding their product needs. Serve as the secondary contact for customers in MED‐EL’s additional regions.
  • Process customer orders in accordance with company policy/Quality System and regulatory requirements for the handling of Class III medical devices
  • Provide routine product troubleshooting assistance for MED‐EL medical products
  • Collaborate with internal staff members including Reimbursement, Accounting, Product Control, Order Fulfillment, and Sales teams to help maintain account relationships.

Required Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to articulate concisely
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple time sensitive tasks
  • Excellent database skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) and ability to learn Microsoft Navision and CRM systems.

Position Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate expertise on the anatomy, etiology, indications and contra-indications for all MED-EL products; stay current on developments in technology and relevant surgical approaches
  • Understand varying surgical approaches and the surgical differences between competitors
  • Demonstrate competency in operating MED-EL equipment and software for performing intraoperative device testing.
  • Develop valuable relationships with surgeons, all levels of hospital and hearing healthcare professionals providing services to candidates and recipients of MED-EL hearing solutions
  • Identify the key elements in hearing device purchasing processes with assigned accounts; thoroughly know and understand the key decision-making components
  • Possess professional engagement skills and demonstrate and discuss products and services effectively
  • Participate in the development of new business which results in sales growth; deliver sales goals

Position Qualifications:

  • Positive attitude, self-motivated and collaborative team spirit a must!
  • Required:
    • Bachelor’s degree or greater in an area supportive to hearing healthcare or medicine
    • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
    • Detail-oriented with a high level of organizational skills and proactivity
    • Located within the Northwest Region with easy airport access (Seattle, Portland, Boise)
  • Preferred:
    • Master's degree in Audiology or surgical equivalent
    • Experience with MED-EL cochlear implants
    • Operating room experience
