For a Richer Hearing Experience
Our FineHearing advantage is the unique MED-EL sound-processing technology that delivers a richer perception of sound in all frequencies, including deep bass tones. Our cochlear implant recipients benefit from a fuller, more accurate perception of sound through FineHearing's precise control of essential sound information—in both quiet and noisy environments.
The Full Spectrum of Sound
FineHearing is able to provide our recipients with access to the full range of natural frequencies, including low-frequency bass tones. Hearing this full spectrum of sound allows our recipients to appreciate the richness of music and to notice the subtle differences between sounds. FineHearing is designed to provide a wider range of unique pitches than any other cochlear implant technology. This broad listening spectrum creates a more vibrant soundscape for our cochlear implant recipients.
The Importance of the
Fine Structure of Sound
This comprehensive range of stimulation requires the precision and control of the fine structure of sound to provide the greatest benefit. FineHearing delivers up to 250 unique pitches of sound for exceptional listening accuracy. FineHearing achieves this by controlling how all sounds, in both the high and low frequencies, are perceived by the cochlea. It is the only technology that delivers this additional precision processing in the low frequencies. This enables FineHearing to deliver deep bass tones for a music and speech listening experience that is much richer and more natural.
