MED-EL Announces MAESTRO 7.0 System Software

New cochlear implant fitting software is faster, easier, and more powerful than ever—offering even greater performance from the world’s most advanced cochlear implant system.

May 25th, 2017—(Innsbruck, Austria)—MED-EL, leading provider of hearing implant systems and hearing loss solutions, has launched MAESTRO 7.0 System Software. This software can be used to program all multichannel MED-EL cochlear implant systems. MAESTRO 7.0 is approved for countries accepting the CE Mark, and will be available later this year.

MAESTRO 7.0 features an intuitive workflow interface that simplifies clinical processes. This enables faster, easier fitting sessions for both audiologists and recipients. It also is packed with new, powerful tools for audiologists and surgeons.

The AutoART tool allows rapid, precise measurement of cochlear neural response—providing the world’s fastest complete intraoperative objective measures. With ARTFit, objective measures can be used to quickly create fitting maps for recipients.

MAESTRO 7.0’s Triphasic stimulation technology—only available with MED-EL—enables audiologists to provide satisfactory fitting and hearing outcomes in most challenging cases. This offers an effective solution for recipients who experience non-auditory side effects and previously could not be fitted optimally.

Futhermore, MAESTRO 7.0 incorporates the world’s first clinically available tool for monitoring hearing preservation during cochlear implant electrode array insertion. For the first time, surgeons can use this tool to monitor the neural response of the cochlea to acoustic signals during surgery.

With MAESTRO 7.0, clinicians now have the most advanced cochlear implant fitting software tools in an intuitive, simple-to-use interface.

About MED-EL

MED-EL Medical Electronics is a leading provider of hearing implant systems worldwide, and offers the broadest portfolio of hearing implant solutions. The company was founded by Austrian scientists and industry pioneers Ingeborg and Erwin Hochmair, who in 1977 together developed the world’s first microelectronic, multichannel cochlear implant. In 1990, they laid the foundation for the successful growth of the company when they hired their first employees. To date, the privately held company has over 1,600 employees around the world.

The cochlear implant was the first, and remains the only, replacement of a human sense—the sense of hearing. To treat the various types and degrees of hearing loss, MED-EL offers the widest range of implantable solutions, including cochlear, middle ear and bone conduction implant systems, as well as a system for combined electric and acoustic stimulation.

MED-EL’s mission is to overcome hearing loss as a barrier to communication and quality of life. Individuals in more than 100 countries have had their hearing restored with a MED-EL Hearing Implant System.
