Structure Preservation benefits all cochlear implant recipients. It is seen as especially critical for children who may have multiple implantations in their lifetime. Any future interventions, be they device, biological or pharmaceutical in nature, will be more successful in a cochlea that has received minimal trauma during implantation.

The Importance of CCC

Complete Cochlear Coverage (CCC) means stimulating the cochlea from the base to the apical region in order to stimulate a maximum number of nerve fibres. Stimulation of the entire frequency range provides the implant user with the best possible outcomes in speech perception and sound quality.1,2
