Dear All

Dieter R.
I’ve been wearing the OPUS 2 speech processor since 15th January 2007, I’m delighted with the equipment and would like to share my ongoing experiences. The in-built telecoil is especially good. I can hear the television again with no problems using the input jack, just as I could before with my hearing aids. The range of sound is considerably better compared to my hearing aids. Due to progressive frequency range loss in the inner ear, over the course of time my hearing of speech and music was increasingly distorted. This has been corrected by the speech processor. I can even hear the quiet twittering of birds again. On my right ear which still hears sounds as distorted,
I no longer wear anything because of the different sound pattern. I manage with just the OPUS2 in the left ear.
I gave up listening to music years ago because the sound was distorted and not very satisfactory using hearing aids. As I don’t miss constant background music, I don’t switch on the radio. But I do regret that going to a concert also doesn’t promise to be terribly enjoyable. But I ought to try it out some time. On the other hand, it is easier for me once more to put a sound track to home movies with music over headphones, something I used to really enjoy before.
I find the design of the OPUS 2 very successful and it is very comfortable to wear. If you ignore the coil, the processor is almost like a slightly larger hearing aid in appearance.
