Preserving residual hearing is the key to successfully implementing EAS. For this reason, MED‑EL has designed an especially atraumatic and flexible electrode array, the FLEX^EAS electrode.

FLEX^EAS Electrode Array
The FLEX^EAS electrode array protects the fragile structures within the cochlea from possible damage caused by electrode insertion. The electrode array is inserted only into the damaged part of the cochlea; the area which processes high frequency sound information. This flexible design can be implanted with significantly less force. MED-EL offers the most flexible electrode arrays in combination with the most advanced cochlear implant technology.
