100% ON-CHIP DESIGN
All electronic components are contained on a single custom-designed microchip. This ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) microchip allows a greater amount of information to be processed while keeping energy requirements to a minimum.
POWER EFFICIENT
The I100 electronics are specifically designed for high power efficiency. This results in exceptionally long battery life without compromising performance even in individual cases with high power requirements.
PRECISION STIMULATION
24 independent current sources ensure highly precise, high-rate stimulation over the entire length of the cochlea. Research shows that a continuously optimized stimulation rate causes the auditory nerve to behave as in the normal hearing process. I100 electronics mimics this process (stochastic behaviour) by stimulating at rates matching the abilities of the recipient’s auditory nerve.
